Don't you just hate the facts?  They stare liberals right in the face and yet they still ignore them and blame someone else for their own failures.

Apparently, Obama only works in Trillions...trillions of borrowed money that WE (our children, grandchildren and even great grandchildren) are responsible for paying back.

STOP SPENDING NOW, NOT LATER.  Obama is the PROBLEM and the Dems refuse to offer any SOLUTIONS.  Who is the party of NO now?  LOL!

They did offer solutions....increase revenue. The GOP said NO! Big surprise. This debt ceiling increase is to cover debts we already owe. Things that were bought by presidents as far back as Reagan I am sure and now we have to pay them.

I might add that the debt ceiling increase pays for government spending the Republican led House already approved.

Damn that President Obama! How dare he try to spend the money that Congress Authorized, Appropriated, and voted for! Why is he expecting Congress to do anything about reducing the debt, it's not like *they* had anything to do with it. After all the responsibility for raising revenue, paying debts, and figuring how much money needs to be spent isn't the responsibility of Congress! Why doesn't President Obama love the Constitution? /heavy sarcasm

Notes:

http://www.usconstitution.net/const.html

Section 7- Revenue Bills, Legislative Process, Presidential Veto

All bills for raising Revenue shall originate in the House of Representatives; but the Senate may propose or concur with Amendments as on other Bills.

To borrow money on the credit of the United States;

To regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes;

To establish an uniform Rule of Naturalization, and uniform Laws on the subject of Bankruptcies throughout the United States;

To coin Money, regulate the Value thereof, and of foreign Coin, and fix the Standard of Weights and Measures;

****** Plus a whole bunch of other granted powers *****

Section 9 - Limits on Congress

No Money shall be drawn from the Treasury, but in Consequence of Appropriations made by Law; and a regular Statement and Account of the Receipts and Expenditures of all public Money shall be published from time to time.

    As opposed to Boehner, McConnell and Cantor who like to spend money without paying for it.

    Personally, if the government is going to spend on programs, I feel it is better to fund them with tax dollars. This is the idea you are bashing. Paying for things you use. Incredible to see common sense bashed. Incredible.

    No, Bubba...that use to be the Democrats from the 1970s, NOW it's the Repugs who spend and cut taxes. Where where you when President Bush started two wars, spent out the wazoo and drove up the debts? Inform yourself and don't be an ideologue puppet.

    It you cut it all you don't need to raise taxes or borrow money. That is what families do.

    First off, you can't cut all government spending. That's as stupid as switching Medicare to a voucher plan. Secondly, the federal government and our monetary system are nothing like a family's household budget.

    @bubba.......take away the tax breaks on those who OUTSOURCE OUR JOBS.....If we really have to give tax breaks to businesses, how about to those who create and KEEP jobs HERE, in the US. But the gotp want to pander to the rich and powerful. Do you really think they care about YOU. If so, I have some property you might be interested in. Nice waterfront. With a bridge if you'll like. :)

      ANd that's where the delusions start. That's the equivalent of "How can we run out of money if we still have checks in our checkbook"

      We're running out of printing presses and the plug is about to get pulled on the one's we have.

      The delusion is the comparison of a household to a country that issues it's own currency. Economics 101

      If you don't get that, step away from the debate.

      Tell us all exactly what programs you will cut to reduce annual spending by at least $1 trillion, Bubba. Tell us. Now.

      Because the 80% of America that isn't Teapublican would really, really like to know what you guys have in mind.

      Wait... so the argument is, despite the previous Administration raising the debt ceiling in total by over $5 1/4 trillion, because the average increase per raise was a mere 3/4 trillion, that's way different than Obama's roughly $3 trillion in raises because his average per raise is higher? (And I'm assuming these numbers aren't adjusting for inflation, either).

      Poppycock and balderdash.

      This isn't about scoring points. It's about keeping our country solvent. If the economy comes crashing back down because of this nonsense, it won't be the Democrats who get blamed, I assure you.

      The buck stops at Bush? When does the party that had the huge majority the last 4yrs get some of the blame?

        The buck stops at Bush?

        No, it currently stops with Speaker Boehner. You know, the guy who has the title "Speaker" because his party is the majority in the House. Where budget bills are made.

        The GOP passed the budget that they are now saying they will not allow the President to pay unless they first get their way. The citizens of the United States know that.

        What we need is a compromise that involves raising the debt ceiling, bringing down spending and ending some or all of the Bush Era tax cuts. What we don't need are our congressmen playing chicken with our economic future because they think, somehow, this will benefit them in next years elections.

        The article above is trying to make the President out to be a wild, overspending monster while looking at the comparatively modest saints of administrations past and the numbers, quite frankly, do not support that picture.

        I'm not happy about needing to raise the debt ceiling. I'm much less happy with the idea our national credit rating could suffer, the dollar might get devalued and that meager foothold we have on a chance to get back into the black might go away if the GOP don't do what's right.

        This isn't about "Obamacare". It' isn't trying to pass the buck. It isn't blaming Bush. It is this: We've got bills. We need to pay them. We signed up for them collectively. It is time to collectively pony up.

        IF bubba were to look at ONLY ther spending of Obama, he would see it has been dramatically less than most other administrations. But the morons want to paint Obama as a spending monster. What foolish tools! And I DID NOT call bubba a moron or a fool. Unless he does pait Obama as a, well we know!

          And it wouldn't even be so bad except you philosophy is bankrupt to boot.

              Obama's ADDING all the debt of the wars on the books did NOT make that HIS debt!

              And as far as the gotp policy to get out from under the debt......can YOU please show me ONE business that used cuts to to grow?
